Sonya Dunbar, also known as the Geriatric Toothfairy, is a Registered Dental Hygienist, TEDx, and national public speaker guided by over 28 years of dental experience in private practice, skilled nursing facilities, and academia. Sonya and her husband, Gerald Dunbar, are the owners of Mobile Dental Xpress, providing comprehensive dental care to long-term care facilities. In addition, Sonya is a Geriatric Oral health educator and trainer who provides informative hands-on training for Certified Nursing Assistants that work with aging adults. Sonya has also developed online training for caregivers and CNA’s. Sonya works diligently to educate as many people as possible on the importance of Geriatric oral health. Sonya is a US Navy Veteran and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Gerontology. Sonya is also a serial entrepreneur and successful Cultural diversity

Dr. Alisa G. Kauffman received her B.A. degree from Lehigh University in 1981 and a D.M.D. from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine in 1985. She maintained her private practice in New York City until 1995 when she limited her practice to Geriatric House Call Dentistry.
In 2010 at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Dr. Kauffman created a geriatric dental curriculum within a unique day program designed to keep the elderly population of West Philadelphia in their own residences while receiving a full range of daily services including medical, dental, social services and meals.
In 2011 she was promoted to Chief Dental Officer at the UPenn Dental
Faculty Practices where she maintained that position until 2018, leaving to do house calls for the elderly back in New York City full time.
In addition to her private house call practice, she is the Dental Director at two skilled nursing facilities, and is also the author of “How To Become A House Call Dentist.” Kauffman is passionate about making house calls to those who cannot get out of their homes. She believes that: “When you love what you are doing, it doesn’t feel like work!” Her next project is producing a show called “Caring and Able” and publishing a resource guide also called Caring and Able that is geared towards finding the best products and services for the elderly population.
